WHAT THE POLICIES SAY

US Search (ussearch.com) is a people-search site whose privacy policy states it is operated by Intelius LLC, 'the owner of US Search' — placing it in the same PeopleConnect-adjacent corporate family as sibling brand Intelius. Its privacy policy discloses collection of user-provided data plus 'Third Party Data' compiled from social media, financial institutions and public/private data providers, tracking via cookies/pixels/web beacons, and sale/sharing of identifiers and other categories with advertising partners and data analytics providers under CCPA. US Search was not named in the FTC's September 2023 order against TruthFinder and Instant Checkmate, but the FTC brought its own, earlier enforcement action against the predecessor entities US Search, Inc. and US Search, LLC in September 2010, alleging the company's 'PrivacyLock' record-removal service made false effectiveness claims; that settlement required refunds to nearly 5,000 consumers and barred future misrepresentations, without an admission of liability.
