Sling TV is a live-TV streaming service operated by Sling TV L.L.C., a subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation (NASDAQ: SATS), the Nevada-incorporated holding company that also owns the DISH, Boost Mobile, Hughes/HughesNet and AirTV brands, per EchoStar's own FY2025 Form 10-K. Sling's privacy notice (effective January 1, 2026) discloses household-level viewing-activity collection across live, VOD, pay-per-view and DVR services; use of cookies, web beacons, pixels and similar tracking technologies; receipt of information about subscribers from 'other data companies'; and disclosure of personal information to EchoStar corporate affiliates (AirTV, Boost Mobile, DISH, Hughes, HughesNet). The policy self-declares that Sling 'sells' or 'shares' certain categories of personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, with an opt-out available. In February 2023, DISH Network Corporation's own SEC Form 8-K disclosed a cyber-security incident in which data was extracted from its IT systems and explicitly named Sling as one of the affected corporate brands; a follow-up Form 10-Q clarified that the investigation found customer databases were not accessed, though employee records and a limited number of other records containing personal information were extracted, and the incident was remediated with individual notifications begun.

Sling's privacy notice states that when anyone in a subscriber's household watches a video program through its services, Sling may collect a record of that viewing activity, applying to live television, video on demand, pay-per-view and DVR services.
EchoStar Corporation's Form 10-K for fiscal year 2025 states it is a Nevada holding-company organized in October 2007 that operates its consumer, enterprise and government businesses under the EchoStar, Boost Mobile, Sling TV, DISH TV, Hughes, HughesNet, HughesON and JUPITER brands, and that its Class A common stock trades on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the symbol 'SATS'.
The policy discloses personal information to EchoStar and its corporate affiliates (AirTV, Boost Mobile, DISH, Hughes and HughesNet), separately states Sling receives information about subscribers and their households from corporate affiliates and third-party 'data companies,' and self-declares that it 'sells' or 'shares' certain categories of personal information as defined under the CCPA, offering an opt-out.
DISH Network Corporation's Form 8-K, dated February 28, 2023, disclosed that a network outage was determined to be a cyber-security incident in which data was extracted from its IT systems, that it was possible the extracted data included personal information, and explicitly stated that DISH, Sling and its wireless and data networks remained operational while internal communications, customer call centers and internet sites were affected.
DISH Network's Form 10-Q for the quarter ended March 31, 2023 states its investigation into the February 2023 incident found that customer databases were not accessed, but that employee-related records and a limited number of other records containing personal information were among the data extracted, that the extracted data was confirmed deleted, and that affected individuals were being notified.
The policy states Sling and companies it works with may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, tags, and similar technologies on Sling's own services as well as through third-party websites and platforms to understand users' online behavior and collect usage statistics, demographic information and IP addresses.
