Its U.S. privacy notice discloses a broad information set — government ID and passport data, banking and payment-card details, device identifiers, and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi-based location — shared with subsidiaries, business partners (financing partners, card networks, payment gateways, marketing partners) and service providers, and its California Consumer Privacy Statement self-declares that Identifiers and Online Activity 'may' be sold or shared with online advertising services for cross-context behavioral advertising via automated technologies and server-to-server connections, an admission classed as a CCPA 'sale.' Cards stored in the app are protected by on-device Samsung Knox encryption. No breach or regulator action specific to Samsung Wallet/Pay (as distinct from other Samsung product lines) was found in this research.

Samsung Wallet's U.S. Privacy Notice states that information collected directly from users includes government-issued ID (including driver's license, work or campus ID, photograph and ID number), passport information, payment-card details, and banking information (account number, routing number, account balance, ATM activity, mobile check deposit and bill-payment information), and that information collected by automated means includes device identifiers (device model, OS version, IP address, IMEI, Wallet User ID and Wallet ID) and location via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals (and, with consent, precise geolocation).

The U.S. Supplement to the Samsung Privacy Policy, which governs Samsung Wallet in the U.S., names the operating U.S. entity and its Privacy Office address as Samsung Electronics America, Inc., 700 Sylvan Ave, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632.
