WHAT THE POLICIES SAY

Samsung Internet is Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.'s built-in, Chromium-based browser for Android and Windows, distributed via Google Play as 'Samsung Browser' (no iOS app exists). Samsung's general account/services privacy policy -- which governs the browser as one of its 'Services' -- discloses broad account-creation collection (name, contact info) and third-party ad-network tracking via cookies, beacons, and device identifiers, plus sharing with a wide roster of service providers including advertising partners. Against that, the app's own Google Play Data Safety declaration states it collects only App activity and Device/other IDs, encrypts data in transit, and shares no data with third parties, and Samsung markets Smart Anti-Tracking -- an on-device, built-in cross-site-tracker blocker -- as a first-party feature on both PC and Android builds. Ownership is transparent and traceable: Google Play lists the developer as Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. at its Suwon, South Korea headquarters, the same public, SEC/DART-reporting parent covered in the catalog's samsung-electronics dossier. No incident specific to the Samsung Internet browser itself was found in the sources checked; the parent company disclosed a 2022 breach of 'some of Samsung's U.S. systems' via its own Security Response Center notice, which is included here as the operator's own track-record disclosure even though it does not name the browser as an affected system.
