WHAT THE POLICIES SAY

Privacy Badger is a free browser extension from the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, that blocks third-party trackers by observation: if the same third-party host appears to track the user across three separate sites, future content from it is disallowed. It sends the Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals and states it will never share data about the user's browsing unless the user chooses to file a broken-site report. EFF's technology-projects policy describes optional bug reports and update checks as the software's contact surface with EFF, and EFF states it does not sell or rent visitor information under any circumstances.

TRACK RECORD
EFF maintains a public Security Vulnerability Disclosure Program Hall of Fame page listing, by name and where provided by link, the researchers whose bug reports the programme has accepted -- evidence that the disclosure programme covering Privacy Badger has processed and credited outside reports rather than existing only on paper.

TRACK RECORD
The Electronic Frontier Foundation publishes a Security Vulnerability Disclosure Program whose stated scope names Privacy Badger alongside HTTPS Everywhere, Certbot and Boulder, and which applies to vulnerabilities present in the latest public release of the covered software. The published terms set out researcher conduct guidelines, ask that reports be made privately and that EFF be allowed at least 90 days to fix an issue before public discussion, state that EFF will make every effort to respond to valid reports within seven business days, and disclose that as a member-driven nonprofit EFF cannot afford cash bounties and instead offers non-cash rewards including public acknowledgement.

TRACK RECORD
Privacy Badger's source code is developed publicly under the EFForg organisation on GitHub, where its tracker-detection heuristics and release history are open to independent inspection; no breach or regulatory action involving the extension appears in the drafted record.

TRACKING TECH
Privacy Badger's project site states that it stops advertisers and other third-party trackers from secretly tracking where the user goes and what pages the user looks at; if it observes the same third-party host tracking on three separate sites, it automatically disallows content from that tracker, and it sends both the Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals.
