WHAT THE POLICIES SAY

One Medical (legal entity 1Life Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a One Medical) is a membership-based primary-care and telehealth service, sold as an app plus in-clinic network, that became an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. when their merger closed February 22, 2023, per 1Life Healthcare's own SEC Form 8-K. Patient data is now governed by the shared 'Amazon Health Services Notice of Privacy Practices,' which also covers Amazon Pharmacy (PillPack LLC), and which states Amazon Health Services is 'not in the business of selling' customers' personal information including PHI, while permitting routine disclosure to business associates, insurers, and law enforcement without patient authorization. Apple's App Store privacy label for the One Medical app (seller: One Medical Group, Inc.; copyright: 1Life Healthcare, Inc.) self-declares data linked to identity used for 'Developer's Advertising or Marketing' and 'Analytics' purposes, including Financial Info and Payment Info, but does not include a 'Data Used to Track You' section, unlike some peer health apps. At the time of the 2022 merger announcement, several U.S. senators (including Sen. Amy Klobuchar) publicly urged the FTC to investigate the deal over concerns about Amazon accumulating sensitive health data; the FTC did not block the merger and no enforcement order was found against One Medical or 1Life Healthcare.

Following Amazon's July 2022 announcement of its proposed acquisition of One Medical, Sen. Amy Klobuchar publicly urged the FTC to investigate the deal, citing concerns about Amazon's history of anticompetitive conduct and the risk of accumulating sensitive health data; the merger closed in February 2023 without an FTC challenge and no enforcement order against One Medical or 1Life Healthcare was found.

TRACKING TECH
Apple's App Store privacy label lists 'Analytics' as a declared purpose for data linked to identity, covering identifiers, usage data, and product-interaction data used for product personalization; the label does not include a separate 'Data Used to Track You' section, meaning One Medical has not self-declared cross-app/cross-site tracking, unlike some peer telehealth apps.
