WHAT THE POLICIES SAY

Cox Communications, operating as CoxCom, LLC, is a privately held cable ISP and TV/mobile provider owned by family-owned Cox Enterprises (Atlanta). Its Online Privacy Policy (updated October 29, 2025) and Residential Privacy Notice (effective December 31, 2025) describe collection of usage data, device identifiers, tracking-technology data, and TV viewing activity; retention of DNS query contents for approximately 5 days; use of third-party analytics and ad tech (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, DAA/NAI members); and a self-declared "Third-Party Personal Data Sales" disclosure under Connecticut law naming Comscore and Ampersand as recipients. Cox states it does not use Cox Internet usage data for tailored advertising and does not share directly-identifying information with TV/online ad partners, and offers an ads-preference opt-out. No FTC, FCC, or state-AG enforcement action or large breach notification naming Cox Communications was found via live-fetchable primary sources in this research; Cox was not among the six ISPs covered by the FTC's 2021 ISP privacy report.
