WHAT THE POLICIES SAY

Bird is an e-scooter/e-bike sharing app whose privacy policy discloses real-time GPS tracking of both rider devices and vehicles, and states it shares trip and vehicle-location data with city governments and transportation authorities via the Mobility Data Specification (MDS) standard many mobility permits require. Bird's Apple App Store label (publisher Blue Jay Transit Inc.) discloses that location, contact, identifier and usage data linked to the user's identity may be used for the developer's own advertising and marketing. Bird Global, Inc. (former NYSE: BRDS) and its subsidiaries Bird Rides, Bird Holdco, Bird Opco and Skinny Labs (dba Spin) filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the Southern District of Florida in December 2023; Bird's own privacy policy discloses that personal data may be transferred as part of a bankruptcy or business-sale transaction, and that risk materialized in April 2024 when Bird's assets were sold out of bankruptcy to the newly formed, privately held Third Lane Mobility Inc. No independent security audit, breach disclosure, or regulator action was found in the sources checked.
