WHAT THE POLICIES SAY

Audible is a subscription audiobook and podcast service; its own Conditions of Use state it is "an affiliate of Amazon.com Services LLC" and that the Service is "an Amazon Service," and using Audible requires an Amazon.com account whose on-file payment methods are reused for the Audible subscription. Audible's iOS App Store privacy label self-declares collection of purchase history, coarse location, contact info, search history, device/user identifiers, usage data and audio user-content, linked to identity, for advertising/marketing, analytics, personalization and app functionality. Audible's own "Interest-Based Ads" link routes to Amazon's shared ads-privacy-choices page, which describes "cross-context behavioral ads" delivered off-Amazon and states Amazon will "continue to share your data with our co-branded subsidiaries" even if a user opts out of behavioral ads elsewhere. No FTC, state-AG, or court enforcement action naming Audible specifically was found; Audible's Conditions of Use document a self-service, in-account cancellation path that does not require a phone call.

COLLECTION
Audible's Conditions of Use state that a user without an existing Audible or Amazon.com account must establish an Amazon.com account to use the Service, and that the payment methods on file with the user's Amazon.com account are reused for the Audible account, linking Audible use to a user's broader Amazon identity and payment profile.

OWNERSHIP TRANSPARENCY
Audible's Conditions of Use state directly that Audible is an affiliate of Amazon.com Services LLC and that the Audible Service is treated as an Amazon Service for purposes of Amazon's own Conditions of Use, establishing the corporate relationship in Audible's own primary source rather than only via third-party reporting.

SHARING
The same Amazon ads-privacy-choices page reached from Audible's footer states that even after a user opts out of cross-context behavioral ads, Amazon will "continue to share your data with our co-branded subsidiaries" and continue showing ads based on activity across Amazon's sites and those co-branded subsidiaries' sites and apps.

TRACK RECORD
Audible's Conditions of Use document a self-service cancellation mechanism: users may cancel their membership or any subscriptions by visiting their Account Details page on Audible.com and adjusting membership settings, or by contacting Customer Service via telephone or chat, without describing a phone-only requirement.

TRACKING TECH
Audible's own "Interest-Based Ads" footer link routes to Amazon's shared ads-privacy-choices page, which states Amazon shows "cross-context behavioral ads and interest-based ads," and defines cross-context behavioral ads as using "data from one site or app to advertise to you on a different company's site or app."
