Acxiom
DATA BROKERS
LAST UPDATED 27 JUL 2026

WHAT THE POLICIES SAY

Acxiom is a longstanding U.S. consumer data broker, now operating as a stand-alone unit of advertising holding company Interpublic Group (IPG), that compiles and licenses consumer marketing and identity-resolution data to brands and agencies. The FTC's data broker study found that such companies collect, maintain, and sell a wealth of information about consumers while often not interacting directly with them, drawing information instead from public records and other companies. Acxiom's own privacy materials describe consumer rights to know, opt out, and limit certain uses of data, but the company has faced recurring regulatory scrutiny and consumer litigation over the scope and transparency of its data collection and sale practices.
